Response
Throughout the interviews and discussions about our interface we have heard similar thoughts and problems. These are problems we believe we can tackle head on as we begin designing our interface. These problems we came across we solved as we did our research.
One problem we have come across was with the character. Kids generally have a specific character that they like and just one character will not work. We came up with a solution to our problem as we looked at the build a bear website and that was to create a character in which the children could customize.
In addition, a problem we have come across was a name for the character. As you can see kids will tend to like names of the characters they seen no matter what. What we believed when talking about the name was that to create a general name and let the child be able to rename it, making the character more original for the child.
Another problem we came across was how the children would interact with the interface. This problem that we are still discussing. Our solution will properly be with either touch screen or buttons, the cost is another consideration in our decision.
Our final but not final problem is the environment; we want the room to be child friendly but educational as well. As we did the interview we were able to find a solution in which we can combine education and comfort into the interface.
